ArtStart Announces Annual Community Art Exhibition Details
ArtStart will be showcasing community art in its’ galleries, Thursday through Saturday, January 17 through February 2, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. with a special exhibition closing reception for artists and community members on Saturday, February 2, 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Any community member can submit one original piece of artwork, up to twenty-four inches by forty-eight inches, for display. All entries must be ready for wall mount and marked with the artists name, title of the work, and medium. Entries will be accepted at ArtStart (68 S. Stevens St. across from McDonald’s): Tuesday, January 15 or Wednesday, January 16, between 11:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Late entries cannot be accepted.
Artwork can be picked up after 7:00 p.m. at the closing reception on Saturday, February 2, or 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. February 5 through February 9.
The community exhibition will be open to the public with admission by donation.
ArtStart is a non profit 501 (c)3 organization located in the historic Federal Building in downtown Rhinelander with a mission to inspire, challenge and educate through cultural events and highly-distinctive, curated visual art exhibitions with the purpose of strengthening and sustaining our community.

2019 Free-for-Wall: “Self-Expression: A community art exhibit”
Thank you for your submission of artwork to ArtStart’s 2019 Free-for-Wall Community Exhibition! This year’s medium is any wall-mounted, original piece of art. We ask that all artists read and adhere to the following submission rules to ensure your artwork is exhibited in the best way possible. Thank you!
EXHIBITION DATES & RECEPTION
January 17 through February 2, 2019 Gallery Hours Thu-Sat: 11:00 am to-5:00 pm
Closing reception: Saturday, February 2, 2019, 5:00 to 7:00 pm
MEDIUM & THEME
Work in any medium that can be easily wall-mounted.
Any size up to 24” x 48” ready to be wall-mounted.
All entries must be original work.
NUMBER OF ENTRIES AND IDENTIFICATION OF YOUR WORK
Artists may submit one original work. PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME AND PHONE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF YOUR WORK FOR IDENTIFICATION PURPOSES.
HANGING YOUR WORK
ArtStart will hang your work as long as it is ready to be wall-mounted.
When dropping off work, please write: Artist’s Name, Title of Work and medium on the ART LABELS list.
The Review Team will inspect submissions for adherence to these rules. Inclusion is at the sole discretion of the team.
STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY
All entries are left at ArtStart at the owner’s risk. Although precautions are taken, ArtStart is not responsible for damage or theft. Submission of work to any exhibition constitutes agreement by the artist to provisions here set forth.
Any exhibiting artists consent to the use of their name and the artists’ image for purposes of promotion and advertisement by ArtStart. The artist waives any claim, including any claim for invasion of the right of privacy of copyright.
ART DROP OFF
All entries MUST be dropped off at ArtStart (68 S. Stevens St. across from McDonald’s): TUESDAY JANUARY 15 or WEDNESDAY JANUARY 16, 2019 BETWEEN 11:00 AM AND 4:30PM. When dropping off work, please write down Artist’s Name, Title of Work and Medium. We cannot accept entries later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday.
ART PICK UP
All artwork MUST be picked up at the end of the Closing Reception (Sat., February 2, 2018, after 7pm) OR Tues Feb 5 through Sat Feb 9, 11am-4pm. We will not be able to store artwork after March 31. If you need to make other arrangement for pick-up please advise ArtStart staff when dropping off work. Thank you.
