Focusing primarily on the European paintings, we will look at how often fruit and vegetables appear in such works of art. Students will choose one fruit or vegetable to complete one or more detailed studies.

Master’s Apprentices Workshop

Friday, October 12, 4-6 p.m.

Ages: 7-12
Sarah S. Thompson – Class Instructor

Students will take a piece of unfinished artwork and finish it to match the other person’s style. We will do this by starting a drawing or painting then passing the piece to someone else within the class to finish. This creates unique and fun ways to learn about “ The Master’s Apprentices”.

Day of the Dead Skull Masks

Friday, October 19, 4-6 p.m.

Ages: 7-12

Students will create wearable Day of the Dead skull masks using a variety of drawing materials on paper.

Pumpkin Painting ArtyParty!

Friday, October 25, 5-7 p.m.

A family friendly event to celebrate the childrens’ art from TGIArtFridays exhibited in our classroom.

Participate in a scavenger hunt in the galleries, dress up and dance party on our stage, and select a pumpkin to paint and decorate!

Juice and healthy snacks are provided.

Suggested $10 family admission.

Cash bar available for adults.

Friday, November 15, 4-6 p.m.

Ages: 7-12

Students will learn the significance of cows to rural Wisconsin and why they are a part of Rhinelander History. We will make cows sculptures out of air dry clay. Each cow will represent the students personality and individuality.

Portrait Bust Tradition

Friday, November 29, 4-6 p.m.

Ages: 7-12
Ryan Doberstein – Class Instructor

Students will make a self portrait or observe a partner. Students might also make a figurative or portrait from imagination and clay.

Friday, December 6, 4-6 p.m.

Ages: 7-12

Combining the work of Craig Blietz and Meghan Sullivan, we will practice a variety of techniques for assembling and decorating clay figures.
