Giving Through Your Retirement Account
Did you know that your retirement account can be a meaningful way to support ArtStart?
Individuals age 73 or older are required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) from certain retirement accounts each year. For some donors, making a charitable gift directly from an IRA may be a tax-efficient way to meet this requirement while supporting causes they care about.
A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows eligible donors to transfer funds directly from an IRA to a qualified nonprofit, like ArtStart. In many cases, these gifts can count toward an RMD and may not be included in taxable income.
Gifts from retirement accounts can have an immediate impact—supporting arts programming, exhibitions, and creative experiences for people of all ages in our community.
As with any charitable or financial decision, we encourage you to consult with your financial advisor or tax professional to determine what option is best for your individual situation.
