Singing Mother's Day E-Grams

Community members can support ArtStart and local musicians by purchasing a personalized Mother’s Day Singing Gram. The deadline to purchase is Midnight on Wednesday, May 5th. A personalized video performance of the song will be emailed to the purchaser in celebration of the Mother’s Day holiday.  

Big Road

Michelle and Mark Zanoni have been ambassadors and mainstays in the live music scene of Northern Wisconsin for many years as founding members of Red, Hot and Blue (featuring Cadillac Pete Rahn), Soul to Soul (featuring Mike and Joe Fittante of Hip Pocket), Hip Pocket, Mama’s Little Hippies (featuring Bret and Frisk Miller) and others. This has allowed them to play shows in support of America, Charlie Daniels, Three Dog Night, Jefferson Starship, Devon Allman and Duane Betts, Los Lobos and more. Big Road has been their primary music vehicle for over 15 years and has allowed them to collaborate with some of the top musicians in Northern Wisconsin and beyond. Their music is a stew of funk, soul, rock and blues brings a powerful and unique voice to the local scene.

Bret and Frisk

Bret & Frisk have been performing together throughout the Midwest and other parts of the country for the past 27 years. They met, appropriately enough, at an open microphone night in Breckenridge, Colorado in 1992 and have been together ever since. Their music ranges from a few hits of the 1950s all the way up to present day alternative rock/folk (Sarah McLachlan, Adele, Jimmy Buffett, John Prine). Most of their music, however, comes directly from the "Woodstock" era of the late 1960s and early 1970s, with artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, John Denver, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, America, and Janis Joplin.

Highlights of their musical career include sharing the stage with the band America, Three Dog Night, Charlie Daniels and performing for the owners of the St. Louis Cardinals, singing for a Denver Bronco golf fund-raising event, and last, but not least, performing hundreds of times for friends, family, and patrons of numerous venues. So come on out to one of their shows. They always enjoy seeing and meeting new people. Their music just might have you singing along, tapping your toes, or just pleasantly relaxing and reminiscing.

John Santy

John is a member of Santy and Son, an experienced and professional trio with vocal harmonies, bass, drums, and electric guitar with immaculate solos. The band is based in Rhinelander, WI. Jeff Santy and his son John have been playing together for 30 years and have cultivated a great show filled with harmonies, dancing, great guitar solos, and enjoyable drum grooves.

Nate Sheppard

Nate Sheppard is a freelancer and mixed media artist who specializes in filmmaking, music production, and multimedia performance. He’s currently based in Rhinelander, Wisconsin along with his wife and two children and enjoys creating music, drinking coffee, and supporting the arts.

Troy Graham

Troy Graham is a folk singer-songwriter from Marquette, MI who has been playing music professionally since 2004. Troy has toured the country as a solo act, as well as performed at major music festivals with a bluegrass band. He is often seen paired up with other talented duo artists. As a lover of old time, traditional and gospel music he is able to take his audience back to a different time while being in the present.
